Ok, I'm pretty sick of all this crappy speculation, so I'm going go against everything I believe and join in.
I'm going to go on record stating that I believe that the PS3 will launch in the US before Christmas, and that it will cost about the same as the Xbox360 premium, if not cheaper.
I don't have a whole bunch of insider information to back that up, though I do work for a Sony published video game studio. I also have common sense.
At this stage, Sony is just doing the Nintendo/Apple thing. They want all this anticipation/specualation, it's free publicity for them. And it works very well in the US market. Microsoft jumped the gun with their announcements to the point where they became white noise, and their launch has suffered.
The moment Sony drops an official announcement, the entire internet will stop in its tracks. Brand awareness is absolute key in this industry. This speculative publicity is just as valuable to them as fanboyism.
